Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of Mentorship Village (the "Platform"), including our websites, applications, mentorship marketplace, Deal Rooms, AI-assisted tools, booking services, and related services operated by Mentorship Village ("we," "us," or "our").
By accessing or using the Platform, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Platform.
The Platform is in beta. Features and policies may change as we refine the product.
1. The Mentorship Village Model
Mentorship Village is a marketplace that connects real-estate investors with mentors for paid mentorship sessions.
Marketplace economics:
- The investor pays the displayed session price shown on the mentor's offering at the time of booking.
- The mentor pays Mentorship Village a marketplace fee on each completed session.
- Mentorship Village does not add a separate service fee charged to the investor. The price you see is the price you pay.
Mentorship Village is not a party to the mentorship relationship itself and does not guarantee the outcome of any session.
2. Payments and Capture
Payments are processed through third-party payment providers such as Stripe.
For request-to-book sessions, your payment method is authorized when you request a session, but the charge is captured only when the mentor accepts your request. If the mentor declines, or your request expires, the authorization is released and you are not charged.
For instant-book sessions, payment is captured at the time of booking.
Mentors receive payouts for completed sessions through Stripe, net of the marketplace fee.
3. Cancellation and Refund Policy
Before the mentor accepts (before capture)
- Mentor declines your request: your card authorization is released. You are not charged.
- Your request expires because it was not confirmed in time: your card authorization is released. You are not charged.
- You cancel before the mentor accepts: your card authorization is released. You are not charged.
After the mentor accepts (after capture)
- Investor cancellation 12 or more hours before the scheduled start: you may cancel and receive a 100% refund.
- Investor cancellation less than 12 hours before the scheduled start: you may cancel and receive a 50% refund. The remaining 50% is retained according to the marketplace economics described above. The 12-hour threshold determines the refund amount — it does not prevent you from cancelling.
- Mentor cancellation at any time: the investor receives a 100% refund, and the mentor receives no payout for the cancelled session. Mentors are not blocked from cancelling because of a time cutoff.
- Mentor no-show: the investor receives a 100% refund, and the mentor receives no payout.
- Investor no-show: no refund is issued. Payment remains captured and the mentor retains the applicable payout.
Refunds are issued to the original payment method through Stripe. Timing of the appearance of a refund on your statement depends on your bank or card issuer.
Mutually agreed reschedule
If both parties agree to reschedule a confirmed session, there is no additional fee, no new charge, and no refund. Your existing payment remains attached to the rescheduled session.
4. No-Shows
A "no-show" occurs when a party fails to attend a confirmed session. Mentorship Village records which party did not attend.
- If the investor does not attend, no refund is issued and the mentor retains the payout.
- If the mentor does not attend, the investor receives a full refund and the mentor receives no payout.
No-show attribution is managed by Mentorship Village and may be set by the mentor or an administrator. An investor cannot unilaterally mark a mentor as a no-show.
5. AI-Assisted Tools
The Platform may provide AI-generated deal analysis, session briefs, action plans, and similar outputs. These are provided for educational and informational purposes only and are not financial, investment, legal, tax, lending, appraisal, or other professional advice. You should not rely on AI outputs as a substitute for professional advice.
6. Deal Rooms and Your Content
Deal Rooms and the information you submit are treated as private to you except where you intentionally share access with a mentor or an administrator. You are responsible for the accuracy of the information you submit and should not upload documents containing sensitive personal information unnecessary for the mentorship or analysis process.
7. Mentor Applications and Verification
Mentors apply to join the marketplace and are reviewed by Mentorship Village. Approval of an application does not constitute verification of every claim made by a mentor. "Verified" claims are confirmed by Mentorship Village; "self-reported" claims are not. You should evaluate mentors independently before booking.
8. Acceptable Use
You agree not to misuse the Platform, including by attempting to circumvent payment, submitting fraudulent information, harassing other users, or violating applicable law. We may suspend or terminate access for violations of these Terms or to protect the Platform or its users.
9. Disclaimers
The Platform is provided "as is" and "as available." To the fullest extent permitted by law, Mentorship Village disclaims all warranties, express or implied, and does not guarantee that the Platform will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that any session will meet your expectations.
10. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Mentorship Village's aggregate liability for any claim arising out of or related to the Platform is limited to the amount you paid Mentorship Village for the session giving rise to the claim. This beta-stage limitation is suitable for later attorney review.
11. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. The updated Terms will be posted with a revised effective date. Your continued use of the Platform after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
