4. Data Access and Sharing Controls

Deal Rooms are intended to be private to the investor who created them except where access has been intentionally shared with an authorized mentor or administrator.

The Platform uses access controls designed to restrict users from accessing another user's private Deal Rooms, bookings, session information, documents, or other private data.

The Platform may integrate with or link to third-party services such as Stripe, Google, or other providers.

Your use of those third-party services may also be governed by their privacy policies and terms.

Mentorship Village does not control the independent privacy practices of third-party services.

Google Calendar Integration

Mentorship Village offers an optional Google Calendar integration for mentors. Connecting Google Calendar is voluntary, and mentors are not required to connect it to use the Platform.

When a mentor voluntarily connects Google Calendar, Mentorship Village accesses and uses Google Calendar data only to provide scheduling and session functionality:

  • Availability and conflict checking: We read timing information from the mentor's primary Google Calendar to identify busy times so those times are excluded from the booking availability shown to investors. Before a booking is confirmed, we also perform a real-time free/busy check to prevent double-booking.
  • Session events: When a session is confirmed, we create a calendar event on the mentor's primary Google Calendar and generate a Google Meet link for that session.
  • Rescheduling: When a session is rescheduled, we update the corresponding calendar event.
  • Cancellation: When a session is canceled, we remove (cancel) the corresponding calendar event.

What Google user data we access: We access timing (start and end) and free/busy information from the mentor's primary calendar, and we create, update, and delete calendar events for confirmed Mentorship Village sessions. We do not use existing calendar event titles, descriptions, or attendee content for any marketplace purpose.

What Google user data we store: We store only the busy-time information (start and end intervals) needed for scheduling, cached so availability can be shown to investors. We do not store calendar event titles, descriptions, or attendee details from the mentor's existing calendar. We store the calendar event identifiers and Google Meet links for the events we create for Mentorship Village sessions. Google Calendar access tokens are managed securely by our platform and are not stored in your Mentorship Village profile data.

How data is shared: Busy-time information is used to display available booking times to investors, but investors do not see the underlying calendar event details. The Google Meet link for a confirmed session is shared with the mentor and the booking investor so they can join the session. We do not share Google Calendar data with any third parties for their own purposes.

Disconnecting or revoking access: A mentor can disconnect Google Calendar at any time from Mentor Settings within the Platform, which stops further access. A mentor can also revoke Mentorship Village's access to Google Calendar at any time through their Google Account security settings (myaccount.google.com → Security → Third-party access). After disconnection, we stop accessing the calendar, and previously cached busy-time information is no longer used for new bookings.

No advertising or sale: We do not use Google Calendar data for advertising purposes, and we do not sell Google Calendar data.

Limited Use compliance: Mentorship Village's use of Google Calendar data complies with the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. Google Calendar data is used only to provide scheduling and session functionality for the user who connected it, is not used for advertising, is not shared with third parties except as necessary to provide the session (for example, sharing the Meet link with the booking investor), and is not used to train models or develop unrelated services.

8. Security

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational measures designed to protect personal information against unauthorized access, loss, misuse, alteration, or disclosure.

These measures may include:

  • authentication and access controls
  • role-based permissions
  • restricted private records
  • short-lived access links for private documents
  • server-side authorization for sensitive operations
  • secure third-party payment processing

However, no electronic transmission or storage system is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

9. International Data Transfers

Depending on your location and the service providers used to operate the Platform, information may be processed or stored in jurisdictions other than the jurisdiction where you live.

Where required, we take reasonable steps to handle information in accordance with applicable privacy requirements.

10. Children's Privacy

The Platform is intended for adults and is not intended for individuals under 18 years of age.

We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 18.

If we learn that a child has provided personal information in violation of this policy, we may take appropriate steps to delete it.

11. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes to the Platform, our practices, or applicable requirements.

The updated policy will be posted with a revised effective date.

Where appropriate, we may provide additional notice of material changes.
